JOB DESCRIPTION
Yellow Door Energy is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team and support the company’s operations and growth. The ideal candidate will be excited about bringing clean energy solutions to businesses in the region. She/he will report to the CFO and will work closely with all teams across the organization. The Financial Controller role is accountable for the accounting and tax operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with international financial reporting standards. The role will manage the accounting, tax and reporting teams in each of the company’s foreign subsidiaries (currently in Pakistan, Jordan, Egypt, and expanding to other countries) and the UAE team, which also manages the head office functions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting Transactions and Controls
Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Oversee the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the accounting departments’ goals and objectives
Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiaries, especially their control systems, transactionprocessing operations, and policies and procedures (payables, billing, collections, banking, debt payments and covenant monitoring)
Optimize the use of the ERP system (Oracle NetSuite), researching and implementing process improvements for financial transactions
Planning and Reporting
Coordinate the preparation of timely, accurate and complete financial reports in line with the company’s reporting requirements (e.g. monthly P&L, budget to actual variances, receivables aging, lender and shareholder reports)
Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations, and calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
Manage the production of a rolling monthly forecast, annual departmental budgets, annual companywide budget and three-year forecast
Manage the implementation of the Financial Planning and Reporting module in Netsuite
Provide financial analyses as needed (e.g. for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations)
Compliance
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Functional Skills
Mastery in capital and operational budgeting and forecasting
Advanced understanding and application of IFRS; a CPA or CA designation is required
Advanced understanding of tax structuring and compliance matters
Good understanding of banking instruments, including structured debt products
Experience in managing ERP system implementation
Leadership Skills

Business intimacy and seen as a partner to the leadership and commercial teams
Capacity for high-level discussions with the head office management team

University Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role, including managing staff
Experience in a big 4 firm
Financial/numerical orientation, with high attention to quality and detail
