JOB DESCRIPTION
Yellow Door Energy is looking for an HSE Manager to join our team and support the company’s strategic growth. The ideal candidate will be excited about bringing clean energy solutions to businesses in the Middle East, South Asia and Africa. She/he will report to the SVP Operations and will work closely with all teams across the organization. The HSE Manager will be responsible for managing the HSE process safety function, deploy and implement the most recent updates and standards and ensure compliance across the organization.
The HSE Manager will have therefore the following main functions: 1. Development and management of HSE requirements. 2. Training to all parties involved. 3. Compliance monitoring and Reporting
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
In the position of HSE Manager, the employee’s day-to-day role will be supporting the operations function on the following tasks:
Develop, manage and review HSE manuals, procedures and all health, safety and environment related documentation, including method of statements, work permit procedures and safety equipment requisitions to ensure compliance with established standards and coordinate the update of all firm’s/client’s established policies to support HSE programs;
Lead in the preparation of YDE’s specific HSE operating procedures to ensure contract obligations are met;
Ensure compliance with the Company’s HSE management System requirements in collaboration with the SVP Operations;
Put in place and monitor the HSE KPIs and organize Company-wide (YDE employees & YDE affiliates) HSE Management System related training;
Ensure provision of HSE management System documentation to all departments at all stages of project realization;
Monitor that all Project Specification / HSE System / Plan have been implemented at site. Investigation of accidents / incidents and propose corrective measures / solutions to the Management;
Undertake daily HSE inspection, investigation of accidents/incidents and rectification of detected irregularities and report the same to the SVP Operations;
Review scope of work completed from the safety and environment perspective, to identify trends and possible exposure to problems;
Manage the conduct of HSE management system audits and issue of audit/HSE reports.
Attend weekly comprehensive company progress meeting.
These responsibilities are subject to change depending on the needs of YDE. There may be a need for travel to support country offices, within the scope of the role in YDE.
YOU…
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
5-7 years of experience in HSE preferably in the renewable energy industry
Excellent knowledge of international and local HSE legislation and regulations
HSE impact expertise and ability to assess and plan the mitigation of negative factors
Project management ability
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Quick and sound decision making and judgement
Ability to prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment
Be organized, available and with a high sense of responsibility
Audit/assessment skills using auditing management systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Data analysis and report writing skills
Shall have very good teamwork skills
Fluency in oral and written English & Arabic
