UNIDO’s International Conference ‘Clean Hydrogen: Shaping Sustainable Industry’s Future’

On April 8, 2026, UNIDO, in collaboration with its international partners, will host the International Conference ‘Clean Hydrogen: Shaping Sustainable Industry’s Future’ at the UN premises in Vienna. The event aims to encourage transformative changes in local industries of developing countries and transition economies through the sustainable application of clean hydrogen.  

Clean hydrogen presents a transformative opportunity for energy-intensive industries worldwide, particularly for countries with abundant renewable energy resources. It can drive significant emission reductions, help achieve national climate targets, and support the creation of new low-carbon industries in developing and transition economies. With its potential to decarbonize critical sectors – including fertilizer production, steel manufacturing – clean hydrogen can act as a catalyst for economic growth and job creation, offering pathways to sustainable industrialization.
