This roundtable will explore the emerging opportunities for a truly interconnected GCC power market, including the growing role of renewable and battery-based electricity exports, and the long-term policy implications of subsidy regimes across the region. The discussion will provide strategic perspectives for policymakers, utilities, traders and energy-sector professionals.

Speakers

  • Jim Krane – Wallace S. Wilson Fellow for Energy Studies at Rice University’s Baker Institute. Jim is recognised internationally for his work on Gulf energy policy and subsidy reform. He is author of the acclaimed book Energy Kingdom.
  • Robin Mills – CEO of Qamar Energy and a leading analyst of Middle Eastern energy strategy, renewables, and carbon policy. Robin is the author of The Myth of the Oil Crisis and Capturing Carbon, key references in global energy and climate discussions.
  • Jan Haizmann – Secretary General of ZETA and founder of Correggio Consulting. With more than two decades of experience in energy law and market design, Jan advises governments, regulators and market participants on the development of competitive and clean energy markets.
